Construction kicks off on Hai Duong thermal power plant

The project is funded by Malaysia and China, with a capacity of 1,200 megawatts. The plant, with a total area of 199 hectares, will be built in Kinh Mon District, Hai Duong Province, with the Build - Operate – Transfer model. After 25 years of operation, the project will be transferred to Vietnam.

The Hai Duong thermal power plant is planned to be completed in 2020. With demand for electricity expected to increase from 10-12% per year, the project will raise national power capacity and meet the needs of the people and businesses in the region.
