VTV.vn - A Thailand-Vietnam trade promotion conference is being jointly held by the Business Association of Overseas Vietnamese (BAOOV) and the Business Association of Thai – Vietnam (BAOTV) in Udon Thani Province, Thailand from September 27 to 30.

With more than 80 pavilions showcasing products, the four-day event, which is under the patronage of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to connect Vietnamese enterprises, Thai firms and overseas Vietnamese businesses from Thailand and countries around the world, thus creating opportunities to boost trade exchange, enhance investment-trade promotion cooperation and advertise the investment and business environment in Vietnam.

Addressing the opening session on Friday, Hau A Lenh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, applauded the initiative and efforts of the BAOOV and the BAOTV to organise the conference.

He voiced his belief that on the basis of the recommendations and new ideas recorded through the event, practical programmes and activities to further accelerate Vietnam-Thailand trade-investment ties will soon be designed and implemented in the two countries’ markets, thus creating the premise for new developments in the time to come.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Cuong, who is also the Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, affirmed that the conference contributes to materialising and facilitating the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership. In addition, it offers an occasion to tighten solidarity among the Vietnamese people in Thailand in particular and the overseas Vietnamese community as a whole, he stated.

Cuong hailed the event as the chance for Vietnamese businesses, both at home and abroad, to make the most of countries’ available conditions to step by step strengthen the implementation of trade-investment activities and bring Vietnamese products into the international market.

On behalf of the Foreign Minister, Cuong presented certificates of merit to the BAOTV and its president Ho Van Lam for their significant contributions in implementing the campaign “Vietnamese people prioritise the use of Vietnamese goods”.

In the framework of the conference, delegates offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh and presented memorial trees at the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani.
