Conference discusses mass fish deaths in central region

Representatives from four central provinces along with local and international scientific organisations took part in the event. Some theories were brought up at the event, including chemical contamination, heavy metal toxins, algae bloom or red tides. The ministry said more analysis was needed, claiming it was unclear what had caused the huge number of fish deaths. The ministry representative said in the press conference afterwards that the ministry had stepped up efforts in the investigation claiming it still needed thorough examination.
