Competition held in Mui Ne's sand dunes to welcome New Year

This is a significant cultural and sporting activity for the people of the coastal area during the spring.

This year's competition attracted more than 250 athletes from 26 groups. The athletes competed in 2 categories: the 2 km race for female and the 4 km race for male. Athletes must run barefoot across quicksand and road terrain. The competition is held annually on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and attracts both locals and visitors alike.
