Coconut leaf cakes exported to South Korea

This specialty can be found in food stands along the road to the city of Ben Tre. In Chau Thanh Ward, there is a little factory that has been producing and exporting coconut leaf cakes to South Korea for the past 20 years.

A pot contains 250 cakes and it takes them a couple more hours to cook. The demand for coconut leaf cakes decreases slightly as the Lunar New Year approaches. This traditional job certainly has its ups and downs but it has become an essential part of the locals' lives.
