VTV.vn - Senior officials of China hailed the significance of the official visit to China by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong while meeting with the Vietnamese leader in Beijing on January 13.

Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said the visit is of importance on the threshold of the 67th anniversary of the countries’ diplomatic ties and the traditional Lunar New Year.

General Secretary Trong informed Yu about the important common perceptions reached at his talks with Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

He emphasised that the common perceptions and the resolve shared by leaders of the two Parties and countries need to be thoroughly grasped by all levels, sectors and people in the two countries. They need to be realised through concrete and consistent actions so as to promote the sound development of the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

He also spoke highly of the recent contributions by the CPPCC and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) to the countries’ overall relations, voicing his hope that they will press on with practical and effective cooperation to help intensify the two nations’ mutual understanding and people-to-people friendship.

Yu underlined that the Chinese Party and Government treasure the neighbourliness, traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam.

The CPPCC will join the VFF in strengthening ties between their nations, increase people-to-people exchanges, boost mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Chinese younger generations, thus consolidating the social foundation to consolidate bilateral relations for the sake of basic and long-term interests of the two peoples, he added.

Also on January 13, Party General Secretary Trong met with Wang Qishan, Secretary of the Chinese Party Central Committee’s Commission for Discipline Inspection.

The visiting leader appreciated Wang’s sentiments towards Vietnam and Vietnamese-Chinese relations. He congratulated the Communist Party of China on its achievements since the 18th national congress, along with attainments in Party management and building.

Wang highly valued major accomplishments that the Communist Party of Vietnam has obtained while leading Doi moi (Renewal) and national development. He also expressed his delight at the recent progress in the countries’ relations.

He briefed the leader about activities conducted by the Chinese Commission for Discipline Inspection to combat corruption, enhance the strict and comprehensive management of the Party, and implement the layout of the Chinese Party’s “Four Comprehensives” since the 18th national congress.

The Vietnamese leader spoke highly of the outcomes and experience of the Chinese Party in corruption fight and Party reinforcement while briefing his host about Vietnam’s Party building policies. He stressed it is vital to keep the revolutionary nature of a Communist Party so that it can always be the pioneer and representative of the interests of the working class, labourers and its country.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed that the Party building and reinforcement is an important, urgent and long-term task that directly relates to the fate of each Party and the socialist regime in each country.

They also agreed to bolster sharing experience in this field between the agencies of the two Parties and countries in order to augment the effectiveness of the corruption fight and the Party reinforcement, helping to deepen bilateral cooperation in the time ahead.
