China to halt added tariffs on U.S.-made cars

According to the Chinese Ministry of Finance, China will suspend 25% tariffs on 144 types of cars and spare parts and 5% tariffs on 67 types of auto parts.

The suspension will be effective from January 1 to March 31next year. In a statement on its website, the Chinese Ministry of Finance said they hopes China and the United States can speed up negotiations to remove all additional tariffs on each other's goods.

US President Donald Trump welcomed the announcement.
