This project was initiated by China to create a platform for purchasing goods within the ASEAN bloc and China Vietnam is considered a key country within ASEAN. To achieve its goal, delegations from the China-ASEAN Centre met with Vietnamese businesses to collect opinions and feedback about the site.
According to Vietnamese customs, for the first six months of this year, Vietnam exported goods worth of 9.2 billion USD to the Chinese market, an increase of 18% compared with the same period last year. However, Vietnam still imports more from China, with goods worth of 14 billion USD imported over the same period. This site is expected to help bring a more balanced trade turnover for Vietnamese goods to the Chinese market.
