China, ASEAN to boost security co-operation

With the theme Security for Prosperity, the meeting aims to promote mutual understanding and co-operation to deal with new challenges on regional security.

At the event, Vietnam's Defence Minister, General Phùng Quang called on China and ASEAN to strengthen co-operation in order to maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the region. Minister Thanh also highly appreciated the co-operation mechanisms among law enforcement agencies of ASEAN countries and China, including the ASEAN - China Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime in recent years.
