Chief Justice sworn into Supreme People's Court

According to the results of the vote counts, Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh received 96.76% consent of the National Assembly to be re-elected as Vice State President for the 2016-2021 term. Nguyễn Hòa Bình and Lê Minh Trí received 95.75% and 90.96%, respectively, to serve as Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court and Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

Speaking after the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Justice Nguyễn Hòa Bình also affirmed that he will join the leaders of the Supreme People's Court to uphold discipline, and maintain the transparency and integrity of the Supreme People’s Court; and protect justice, human rights, civil rights, the Socialist regime, and the interests of the State as well as the legitimate rights and interests of individuals. The newly elected Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court also suggested that the National Assembly deputies strengthen supervision of court activities at all levels, building the people's court to become a symbol of justice, reason and faith, to reflect the expectations of the people.
