Central highlands lacks water for crops
VTV.vn - Water shortages may be threatening crops in all of the provinces of the Central Highlands of Vietnam. In Dak Nong province, nearly 630 hectares of rice lack water.

Dak Lak province is currently the place that has suffered the most. Around 10,000 hectares have been affected by drought.

The areas in danger might dramatically increase to 30,000 hectares by the end of April. It's worth noting that around 80% of the drought-prone areas are currently being used for coffee and pepper cultivation.

The shortage of water has been attributed to the low average rainfall in the region which is estimated to have decreased by about 30% to 70% compared to the same periods of previous years.
