Celebration of Dien Bien Phu Victory

Following the 56-day siege, Vietnamese troops smashed the Dien Bien Phu stronghold, bringing an abrupt end to French imperial rule throughout Indochina.

It forced French colonialists to sign the Geneva Agreement to end the war and restore peace in Indochina, ending its colonial empire in the country. The Dien Bien Phu Victory marked a glorious milestone in Vietnam's history in its struggle against colonialism and fight for independence and freedom in the 20th century.
