Boat race held on Tam Giang lagoon

Locals in Lang Co town in the central province of Thua Thien Hue organised the CauNgu festival and boat racing competition in Tam Giang lagoon as tradition.

This year’s boat race spanned nearly 3 km and attracted over 100 participants.  This was a good chance for fishermen to enjoy the festivity of the new year and raise their spirits. Cau Ngu is a traditional folk festival with spiritual meaning. It expresses the aspirations of residents in coastal areas, gratitude to their predecessors, and prayers for good weather, peace, and catches full of fish and shrimp../
