Binh Dinh holds memorial and reburial services for the remains of 60 martyrs
The ceremony attended by Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
VTV.vn - The People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province held a memorial and reburial service for the remains of 60 Vietnamese soldiers at the martyrs’ cemetery of Hoai An district, Binh Dinh province on April 17.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia and Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

The remains and belongings of the fallen soldiers were found at Xuan Son hill in An Huu commune, Hoai An district, Binh Dinh province by a search team of Binh Dinh province between March 11 and April 15, 2022.

Through discovered items, the soldiers were found to have sacrificed their lives in the raid on Xuan Son hill conducted by American imperialism in late December 1966.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan wrote in the book of condolence: “Extremely mournful and grateful to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the national independence and freedom. May you rest in peace and we are blessed to follow you in building and defending the socialist of Vietnam.”

On the occasion, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia handed over 200 million VND to the People’s Committee of Hoai An district to build graves and memorial headstones for the martyrs.
