Bamboo Airways is still the most on-time carrier in Vietnam in the first seven months of 2020
VTV.vn - In total, in the first seven months in 2020, the five airlines operated 140,114 flights, including 124,919 flights on time, accounting for 89.2%.

According to the latest statistics about on-time, delayed and canceled flights of Vietnamese airlines in the first seven months provided by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), Bamboo Airways continues leading the entire industry in on-time performance (OTP) rate.

Specifically, Bamboo Airways operates 15,739 on-time flights out of 16,501 flights, corresponding to 95.4% OTP rate, leading the entire aviation industry in Vietnam.

Vietnam Airlines and VietJet Air respectively performed 90.4% and 86.2% of the flights on time in the first seven months of the year.

Jetstar Pacific had the highest rate of flight delays and cancellations, reaching 15%.

In total, in the first seven months in 2020, the five airlines operated 140,114 flights, including 124,919 flights on time, accounting for 89.2%.

The common reason that 15.195 flights were taken off late was the late arrival of aircraft, accounting for 59.8% with 9.081 flights; followed by internal factors from the carriers themselves, accounting for 26.8% and reasons of equipment and services at airports occupy for 7.3%.

In the context that the Covid 19 pandemic is getting complicated, carriers have shown their great efforts in maintaining high OTP rates although they have to spend more time on aircraft disinfection.

In the first seven months of 2020, Bamboo Airways exceeded its former capacity in the same period last year by 96.4%, corresponding to a flight recovery rate of 196.4%, leading in the domestic aviation industry.

Bamboo Airways representative said the Carrier still strictly maintains and complies with the overall disease prevention measures in its whole system. The flight crew is fully equipped with masks and medical gloves when serving passengers.

The crew members also have knowledge of pandemic prevention measures to ensure safety and hygiene according to standards of the Ministry of Health and Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam. Besides, Bamboo Airways continues making efforts to maximize the passengers’ benefits by implementing refund policies and policies of changing flight times/flight itinerary with unlimited changing times.

Currently, Vietnamese carriers are recommending passengers to strictly comply with regulations on Covid-19 prevention at the airports, to wash and disinfect hands; to wear face masks during check-in as well as on the entire flight; to closely monitor disease developments to proactively make schedule and to provide medical declarations upon request from authorities.
