ASEAN countries partner with the U.S to fight COVID-19

The ASEAN countries hailed the US for supporting the bloc in its anti-pandemic efforts. ASEAN proposed the US to actively back ASEAN initiatives such as the establishment of a COVID-19 response fund and giving medical equipment reserves for emergencies.

The US Secretary of State outlined a number of cooperative initiatives to enhance health cooperation, share resources, and build disease control infrastructure in the region. The conference emphasized the need to enhance solidarity, to build trust, and to maintain regional order and security.
