Artist shows his love for calligrapher
VTV.vn - Calligraphy has long been practised in Vietnam. In recent years, this art form has taken a new turn using the Roman-alphabet based Quoc Ngu script.

These pictures have been carefully preserved by calligrapher Tran Quoc An. They capture the moment when he had a chance to meet General Vo Nguyen Giap. He showed the general his calligraphy book, which features the Prison Diary poetry collection written by Late President Ho Chi Minh. With more than 300 pages featuring the president’s verses, Tran Quoc An’s handwritten book expressed not only his talent but also his respect for President Ho Chi Minh.

An owns 3 calligraphy works recognised as ‘national records’, including Thi Van Yen Tu (Yen Tu's Poetry and Cloud), Hoa Lu anthologies and the longest Vietnamese distich.

Calligraphy lovers can find meaningful philosophies of life expressed in Tran Quoc An’s works. And for this talented calligrapher, his life will always be associated with his art.
