An art programme entitled ‘Nang Ba Dinh’ (Sunshine at Ba Dinh Square) was held at the Hanoi Opera House on August 31, marking the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (1945-2022).

It was arranged in two parts, namely ‘Aspiration for Peace’ and ‘My Country has never been so beautiful’, featuring songs and dances by popular singers and artists, including Vu Thang Loi, Phuong Thao, Dong Hung, and Ngoc Ha.

The performances recounted the historic autumn in August 1945, which marked a brilliant milestone in Vietnam's history of national construction and defence, while praising the Vietnamese people’s strong will and aspiration to bring the country to move forward.

The audience also had a chance to watch documentaries recalling the happenings of the August Revolution, the national struggles of the Vietnamese people and the army, for national independence and freedom, and particularly the moment at the historic Ba Dinh square on September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The event, hosted by Dai bieu Nhan dan (People's Representatives) newspaper in coordination with relevant units, was broadcast live on Vietnam Television’s Channel 2.
