VTV.vn - An art programme entitled “Xuan Truong Sa 2021” was held at the Hanoi Opera House on January 23, aiming to pay tribute to the naval officers and soldiers who are protecting the country’s sovereignty over its seas and islands.

The event was part of the activities to celebrate the 13th National Party Congress and the 91st anniversary of Communist Party of Vietnam (January 3, 1930-2021).

Through the programme, the agencies, enterprises and individuals could send their support to the relatives of officials and soldiers in remote seas and islands, contributing encouragement to them in successfully fulfilling their missions of safeguarding the country’s sovereignty over seas and islands.

The 90-minute programme was divided into three parts themed “The country viewed from sea”, “The homeland’s seas and islands” and “Spring in Truong Sa”.

The event featured the participation of various renowned artists such as Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Phuong Anh and thoses from the Naval Armed Forces Art Troupe and Naval Military Dance and Choir.

In addition to art performances, audiences had the chance to know more about the past nine years of the programme as well as witnessed the construction of social houses and donation of savings books and scholarships at the Naval Military Command, Bo Trach District (the central province of Quang Binh) and Thuy Nguyen District (the northern portal city of Hai Phong).

Over the past nine years, the organising board of the programme mobilised organisations and enterprises to donate over VND5 billion; presented 15 sovereign boats to Vietnam People's Navy; and handed over hundreds of social houses, thousands of saving books and many gifts to relatives of naval soldiers.
