APEC prepares for emergency situations

On Sunday, the second day, a meeting for emergency preparedness was organized. At the meeting, Vietnamese representatives reaffirmed Vietnam's willingness to share information and experience for natural disaster prevention as well as learning from experiences of other APEC economies. The top priority for this year is to promote scientific research and apply advanced technology to help deal with natural disasters.

Nearly 2,000 delegates representing 21 APEC economies, international and regional organizations, and companies are attending a series of meetings within the framework of the first APEC Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM1) in Nha Trang city.
