Schaeffler Operations Digitalization & IT Asia Pacific team completed a three-day AWS Bedrock & Agentic AI Bootcamp, co-hosted by FPT Software and Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2025. The workshop underscored Schaeffler’s commitment to enhancing its digital and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, contributing to its goal of becoming a digital frontrunner and a leading pioneer motion technology company.
More than 50 participants, including Schaeffler engineers, FPT Software and AWS experts, joined the program. Through presentations, hands-on laboratories, and team-based prototyping sessions, they gained both theoretical foundations and practical implementation skills.
Tailored to Schaeffler’s business and operational needs, the bootcamp took participants on a clear, step-by-step learning journey. They started with expert-led sessions to understand the thorough fundamentals of AWS Bedrock services, then immediately put that knowledge into practice through hands-on labs. This learning pathway culminated in a collaborative hackathon on the final day, where teams applied their new skills to develop AI solutions for real-world Schaeffler scenarios.
Pobantz Angeles, Karl Fabian, VP Operations and Digitalization IT SCM & Purchasing Solutions said: “Artificial Intelligence and intelligent agents are no longer just emerging technologies – they are becoming integral to the transformation of manufacturing and business processes. Their rapid evolution is proving to be a game changer, unlocking new levels of efficiency and innovation”.
“Over 50 Schaeffler colleagues from across the Asia Pacific region, predominantly those based in Vietnam, convened at the event. In collaboration with AWS, one of our key technology partners, and FPT, our trusted delivery partner, the teams came together to explore real-world business use cases powered by AI. The results have been nothing short of inspiring. Teams engaged deeply with the technology, demonstrating tangible outcomes and showcasing how AI can drive measurable value for the business. The high level of collaboration and enthusiasm confirmed one thing: we are on the right path”, he added.
Bolstering Vietnam’s AI ambition
At Schaeffler, AI is a key success factor within the company’s digitalization roadmap. Initiatives like the bootcamp enable the employees to continuously upskill, learn from leading industry experts, and apply AI technologies directly in operations to enhance efficiency, quality, and adaptability across the entire value chain.
This aligns with Vietnam’s agenda to position AI as a national priority, which elevates AI as a strategic priority, from developing a draft AI law to implementing National AI Strategy that aims to position Vietnam as a regional innovation hub by 2030.
To advance this agenda, Schaeffler is accelerating the deployment of digital solutions, most notably its GenAI tools, including the AI Assistant and Agentic AI, as well as collaborating with local and global technology partners to scale smart factory initiatives across its manufacturing operations. Complementing these efforts, the company fosters continuous learning for employees through internal hackathons and workshops such as AWS Immersion Days and Game Days, enabling employees to experiment with and apply new technologies in real-world settings.
“Agentic AI possesses a transformative potential that is still beyond our full understanding. It is crucial for us to lead in technological advancements so that we can actively influence its direction, rather than be passively influenced by it. That’s why we are committed to investing in the development and upskilling of our employees and partners. The collaborative Agentic AI Bootcamp with AWS and FPT exemplifies this commitment perfectly”, said Anne-Cathrine Koch, VP of Digitalization and Operations IT Asia-Pacific.
Moving forward, Schaeffler aims to dive in and explore user-centric solutions to bring innovations based on digital technologies into the manufacturing processes, provide modern IT solutions for all customers in Operations and take responsibility for OT-security and highly focus on GenAI/Agentic AI solutions, AI-driven Intelligence in Production Operations.
