36 projects winning Startup Kite contest of vocational education students honoured

VTV.vn - General Department of Vocational Training coordinated with UNFPA in Vietnam, with support of Japanese Government organised a ceremony to honour winners of the contest "Start-up ideas for vocational education students - Startup Kite 2021".

The contest’s final round took place over two days, November 25-26, with 67 competing teams from various different fields, such as agriculture, production and business, tourism, engineering - application technology, trading business, food processing, mechanical engineering and automation.

The organising board has selected one first place prize, two second place prizes, three third place prizes, 29 consolation prizes and one favourite start-up team award through voting on the programme's fan page.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Tan Dung emphasised that the contest was launched with a topical and humane theme: “Starting up innovation in the 4.0 era. ". Thereby, towards ideas and projects with applications of science and technology, especially digital technology, in all fields to care and support the elderly and people with disabilities in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the new normal state.

The contest has contributed to strongly promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among students. Through this, it can be seen that many students are very active, dynamic and creative in exploring production and business ideas associated with community benefits, environmental protection, and social economic development.

Within the framework of the final round of the contest, the General Department of Vocational Training has signed a cooperation agreement with enterprises: Phu Thai Holding Co., Ltd. and Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park in order to implement the Project "Supporting students start-ups by 2025”; coordinate vocational training and create jobs for students.

“Smart walking stick”, by students Nguyen Hong Phuc, Pham Hong Dong and Vi Dinh Khanh of Vietnam-Germany College of Nghe An won the first place prize at Startup Kite 2021, because of its high feasibility and social significance when aiming to support the elderly and people with disabilities.
