26 people killed in recent floods in northern provinces

According to a report from the National Steering Committee on Disaster Prevention and Control, floods from the 1st to the 6th of August have killed 26 people, 12 of which were in Sơn La Province. Fifteen people were reported missing, and 27 were injured.

More than 230 houses were swept away, and over 330 hectares of agricultural farming area were destroyed by rocks and soil. Several roads and national highways were blocked, but began operating shortly after. Total losses after these incidents are estimated at over 41 million US dollars.
