2020 Youth Month activities launched nationwide

VTV.vn - Various practical activities are being held nationwide with the participation of youngsters in response to the 2020 Youth Month programme, which falls in March each year.

On Saturday morning (February 29), the Hanoi Youth Union launched its 2020 Youth Month campaign, with various specific activities to be carried out throughout the month.

The Hanoi Youth Union will deploy eight volunteer teams to participate in building new rural areas, ensuring urban order and civilisation, promoting Hanoi’s image, keeping Hanoi green, advising and supporting the handling of administrative procedures and joining activities to prevent Covid-19.

On the occasion, the city’s Youth Union and Manulife Insurance Company presented 100,000 face masks and 1,000 litres of disinfectant hand washing solution to the local residents.

In response to the programme, on the same day, local youngsters participated in a voluntary blood donation drive, as well as the distribution of masks and hand washing solutions to local people, planting of trees and the provision of information on Covid-19 prevention.

Earlier on February 28, the Hanoi Youth Union launched a series of contests under the theme of "Understanding the 90-year history of the City Party Committee and the historical and cultural traditions of Hanoi". Three contests will be held simultaneously from mid-March to August, focusing on reproducing the 90-year traditions of the Hanoi Party Committee, the history, traditions and cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi, and the capital city’s achievements after 10 years of expanding its administrative boundaries.

The 2020 Youth Month have also been launched in Phu Yen, Binh Duong and Dong Thap provinces, featuring various activities towards the community to be deployed by local youth.
