12th Party Central Committee convenes 2nd plenum

The meeting will discuss the overall working program of the 12th Party Central Committee and the five-year socio-economic development plan from 2016-2020.

It will also introduce personnel for high-level State agency posts, among other key issues.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said that the Politburo has promptly directed the completion of documents by the 12th National Party Congress for early publication, as well as the development of the Politburo’s Directive on the implementation of the 12th Party Congress’ Resolution.

The Politburo has also approved the working programs of the Politburo and Secretariat for 2016, delegated works to members of the Politburo and Secretariat, and actively introduced candidates for election to the 14th National Assembly.
