Scenes from the 10-Year Gala recording of Kind Deeds.
First aired in 2014, Kind Deeds marked the very first social-humanitarian program from VTV24 News Center, the predecessor of today’s VTV Digital (Center for Digital Content Production and Development). At the time, few believed the show would last, let alone grow into what it is today: a ten-year-old program with a purpose.
Journalist Tran Viet, Director of VTV Digital, shared with VTV Times: “I never imagined the program would last ten years. But now that it has, I am certain it will go on far beyond that”.
Ten years is a significant milestone for any TV program, especially for one that is humanitarian, community-focused, and inspirational. For those who laid the foundation back in 2014, these ten years represent more than just time—it is a significant journey.

“Looking back now, what amazes me most is how Kind Deeds inspires people to do good. The contagious nature of kindness is incredible”, said journalist Tran Viet. "After each episode, viewers feel inspired to help others because they see that it truly matters. I believe that if we choose a meaningful path and are brave enough to pursue it, success will come, even if we don't know when. It will arrive. That’s exactly what the past ten years of Kind Deeds have shown”.
Journalist Thanh Vu, producer of Kind Deeds, has been part of the show since its inception, when it was just an idea on paper. To him, Kind Deeds is more than just a TV show.
“Television work may be done by many”, said journalist Thanh Vu, “but when it comes to covering humanitarian or social issues like this, we are given a rare opportunity to change the lives of those experiencing hardship and vulnerability, sometimes with just a single feature report. Often, the true value of our journalistic work and creativity isn’t measured by royalties, but by how many lives we’ve helped transform”.
The people behind Kind Deeds over the past decade.
“Our goal has always been to bring ordinary people to the screen, people who do small, humble things every day; these are the kinds of people television often overlooks”, journalist Thanh Vu continued. “But Kind Deeds has reshaped that thinking, proving that even the most ordinary individuals can be the subjects of powerful, beautiful stories on screen”.
“We set out to create a community of kind-hearted people by telling their stories. Spreading these stories fosters positive values in the community. Step by step, we can build an image of a kind city and a kind nation. That mission might begin with something tiny, like a single brick, but that is precisely what Kind Deeds is all about. And we remain committed to that goal”.
“Sometimes, just seeing a child grow up, or witnessing a family overcome poverty or hardship, brings us the purest form of joy and pride, which is a very proud thing for people who create the program”, said journalist Thanh Vu.
