Business forum with Slovakian firms held

VTV.vn - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency and Embassy of Slovakia in Hanoi held a Vietnam – Slovakia Business Forum on Monday in Hanoi.

The event drew the participation of businesses from both countries.

18 Slovak firms in petrochemicals, energy, information technology to telecommunication services and international trade joined the forum with the hope to discuss and find new investment opportunities. Vietnam is regarded as a potentially lucrative market for Slovak products.

Eduard Cristea, Sale manager, Synerco Company, Slovakia said: "Our company provides virtual reality products for military training and some other products. We see Vietnam as among our potential markets. We are always interested in co-operation with Vietnam in civil defence".

Pavol Miller, Manager, Duck TV, Slovakia said: "We’ve followed our prime minister to Vietnam as to promote our international TV station. It’s a channel for children. It’s an education channel teaching children everything from colours to foreign languages. We believe that Vietnam will be our key partner as we see strong development of the country in technology".

Vietnamese businesses from different sectors also pay interest in attracting investment from Slovakian companies.

Tran Ngoc Quy, Viglacera Land Company said: "Slovakia has promoted their investment into Vietnam. Hence, I think this forum is a great chance for me to have better understanding about the market and Slovakia enterprises".

Six agreements in energy, construction, manufacturing and assembling light systems have been signed between Vietnamese and Slovak enterprises during the business forum. Notably the deal to establish the Lachot-Anphu joint company was also been signed. The company will process wood in Slovakia to export to Vietnam and European markets. The company is seen as an example for new way of co-operation between the two countries using both countries’ advantages to meet their own demands.
