VTV.vn - The General Department of Vietnam Customs announced on Tuesday that Vietnam's phone and component exports to China in the first quarter of this year accounted for one-fifth of the country's total export turnover.

China overtook the US as Vietnam's second biggest market in terms of consumption in the first four months of the year. Vietnam exported nearly 1.8 billion U.S. dollars' worth of phones and their components to China in the first quarter, up 5 times against the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Vietnam earned 16 billion U.S. dollars from exporting phones and components to foreign countries from January to April. Meanwhile, Vietnam's total telecommunications revenue reached over 4.2 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2018, according to the country's General Statistics Office.
