VTV.vn - 63% of the total 840 billion cubic metres of water in Vietnam depend on sources outside the country which is why Vietnam's water security greatly depends on activities on the Red River and Mekong River.

This information was released at a workshop themed 'Green solutions for water resources' which was held by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on Friday. The event explained that waste water is a big challenge, as enterprises use a large amount of water but recycle and reuse little of it. Furthermore, climate change has caused serious droughts and salinity. Over 10 presentations at the event pointed out solutions for the problems such as strengthening international cooperation and renovating policies on water management.
