VTV.vn - The Vietnam Rubber Group has invested in production and trade in Cambodia for nearly a decade. It has abided by the local laws and policies while contributing to social security and economic development in Cambodia.

The Cambodian government has authorized 48 Vietnamese enterprises to grow rubber on 200,000 ha of land in the northeastern region.

Vietnamese rubber companies have built infrastructure to support local production and have generated jobs for 15,000 people.

Vat Para Nin, Deputy Governor of Ut Domien Chay province, said, “Vietnamese companies have recruited local people to reduce migrant labor 80%. They have built houses for the poor and developed the infrastructure. We thank Vietnamese companies for doing business here.”

Khanh Chom Nat, Deputy Governor of Kratia province, said 10 Vietnamese rubber companies are growing rubber on 81,000 ha of land. They have always complied with Cambodia’s laws and policies.

“Vietnamese companies have worked closely with the local administration. They have invested in infrastructure and assisted poor people. Whenever the administration calls for investment in public welfare work, they participate,” he said.

Ven Sa Khun, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, said Vietnamese rubber companies have expanded their farms and contributed to local social security.

“I appreciate Vietnamese rubber companies for doing business and fulfilling their corporate responsibility. They have a lot of business initiatives and sufficient financial resources. They have achieved good initial results,” he said.

Leng Rithy, Chief Representative of the Vietnam Rubber Group in Cambodia, said Vietnamese rubber companies have invested US$4 million in social security in Cambodia, including electrical grids, schools, and health facilities.
