VTV.vn - There are more and more US firms doing business in Vietnam despite the US's efforts to promote protectionism.

There are plenty of opportunities for US firms to do business in Vietnam, despite the US's efforts to promote protectionism. This was the opinion shared by many experts and was also expressed through trade deals worth billions of dollars that were signed during Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's recent visit to the US.

With 815 projects, with the total registered capital of 10.07 billion USD, the US ranks eighth among 112 countries and territories directly investing in the Southeast Asian nation. Bilateral free trade agreements can be a way to even further that result. To achieve this, there needs to be discussion on fair and balanced terms for both sides, and a common basis such as the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) between Vietnam and the US.
