Vietnam, Cambodia agree on boosting border trade
VTV.vn - On Thursday, a meeting between the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce was held, with the aim of boosting trade turnover in border areas.

In 2017, bilateral trade turnover reached 3.8 billion USD, rising more than 30% compared to 2016. Both governments have committed to raising bilateral trade turnover to 5 billion USD as soon as possible.

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Đỗ Thắng Hải said that Vietnam has many preferential policies to encourage businesses to invest in infrastructure in border areas. Currently, a border market project on both sides of the border between Vietnamese province of Tây Ninh and Cambodia is being implemented. The two countries aim to build more markets and logistics centers along the border.
