Vietnam and IMF hope to boost co-operation

VTV.vn - General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on Friday met Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vietnamese leader highly appreciated the support and co-operation between the IMF and Vietnam, especially in policy consultancy and improving management qualifications. The IMF’s director commended the government for its achievements over recent years, including establishing macroeconomic stability with high growth rates, integration into the global economy, higher living standards and lower poverty.

The IMF leader also confirmed that they will continue support to Vietnam in a number of fields such as technical assistance, policy consultancy, ensuring public debt and improving banking system, for Vietnam’s sustainable growth.
