U.N security council to meet on Syria chemical attack
VTV.vn - The United Nations Security Council has remained deadlocked on Syria chemical attacks.

The council held two emergency special sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday but failed to determine responsibility for the attacks. The 3rd meeting session, which openedon Thursday, aimed to discuss on the use of weapons of mass destruction. In earlier meetings, the UN Security Council failed to adopt 3 competing resolutions that would have established a mechanism to investigate use of such weapons in Syria, as well as another concerning a fact-finding mission in the war-torn country.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the ambassadors of the 5 permanent council nations, which are Russia, the US, Britain, France and China, to express his deep concern about the risks of the current impasse.
