Tropical depression forming over the East Sea
VTV.vn - According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression has formed over the East Sea and is heading towards Vietnam.

As of 1pm on Sunday, the eye of the storm lay 570 kilometers east of Hoang Sa, or the Paracel Archipelago, with wind speeds measuring level 6 on the Beaufort scale. The storm is expected to sustain the wind speeds and move at a speed of 35 kilometers per hour westward towards Vietnam.

The tropical depression is expected to bring strong winds to the Paracel Archipelago and the northern coast of Vietnam. Heavy rains of 100 to 150 millimeters are forecast in the area between Thanh Hoa and Quang Ngai provinces, with places like Nghe An, Hà Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces likely to get 200mm.
