The Vietnamese delegation was the first who flew in to pay their respects to late President Fidel Castro. The National Assembly Chairwoman laid a wreath and bid farewell to the Cuban national hero at the Jose Marti Memorial in the Cuban capital of Havana on Monday local time. She took this opportunity to emphasise the invaluable contributions Castro and Cuba made to Vietnam's past struggles for liberation. She then expressed Vietnam's gratitude and respect to the late Cuban leader. NA Chairwoman Ngan underlined Vietnam's commitment to honouring and enriching the historic friendship between Cuba and Vietnam, nations on opposite sides of the world but on the same side in spirit.
Meanwhile, in Vietnam, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan and Senior Lieutenant-General To Lam on Tuesday paid homage to late Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro at the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi.
