TPP set to massively affect Vietnamese livestock sectors

According to the researchers, the TPP would have a clear impact on the livestock sector through higher standards, greater imports and higher competition for domestic producers, while in contrast the AEC will have an almost negligible effect. Notably, poultry producers are expected to suffer the most with profits likely to be slashed by 11.46 million USD and productivity hit by 1.17%.

The event was organised by the Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy research.
