VTV.vn - Vietnamese officials underlined the importance of border and territorial issues to relations with China at governmental-level negotiations on border and territory held in Bejing, China on Monday and Tuesday.

The two sides agreed to enhance security and social order in border areas while effectively executing the co-operation agreement on protecting and tapping the tourism resources of Ban Gioc Waterfall, and the agreement on the travel of ships at the free navigation area at the mouth of the Beilun River. With regards to maritime-related issues, both sides said they would seriously implement the important common perceptions shared between the parties and state leaders and the Sino-Vietnamese agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues. The countries will continue to comprehensively and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea and work with relevant parties on the basis of consultation and consensus to draft an East Sea code of conduct.
