Rains and floods forecasted in northern mountainous region

VTV.vn - The northern mountainous region continues to experience heavy rains, which are expected to persist over the next few days.

 

In the last 15 hours, many areas in the northern mountainous region recorded water levels of over 100 milimetres.

According to forecasts from today to July 16th, heavy rains will continue to pour down on the region. In the next 12 hours, the water level of the Thao River in Yên Bái will be 0.2 metres above alarm level 2. On the Chảy River, the water level will be 0.5 metres above alarm level 2. Inundation is being predicted in Hà Hoà, Thanh Ba district, and Phú Thọ Town. Floods and landslides are likely to occur in the provinces of Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Lai Châu, Điện Biên, Sơn La, Hà Giang, Tuyên Quang, Cao Bằng, Thái Nguyên, and Bắc Kạn.
