The Quang Nam Festival will take place from June 7 to the 14th. Quang Nam is famous for Hoi An ancient town and the My Son relic. However, not many people know that Quang Nam also had many soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country during the resistance War. The province is now developing tourism services based on historical events and war relics.
Mr. Canh and his friends paid a visit to the statue of the Vietnamese Heroic Mother at Cam mountain, Tam Ky. The statue resembles "Heroic Mother" Nguyen Thi Thu, whose 11 children and grandchildren all died in Vietnam's liberation fight.
The management board of this statue understands that to attract more visitors to the place, they need to focus on stories and historical artefacts from the war.
Ky Anh tunnel, one of the 3 largest tunnels in Vietnam is also a highlight of the tour. The memorial area of Vo Chi Cong is also an attraction in Quang Nam province.
This new model of tourism is challenging to implement because it has a limited source of tourists. Most tourists now are veterans and students. Quang Nam is working with travel agencies to promote these new tours in the time to come.
