Prime Minister calls for focus on livelihoods post-flooding

VTV.vn - ​The Prime Minister announced through the Government’s Office on Tuesday that there must be a focus put on the tabilizing of livelihoods of local people in the Central Region in the aftermath of Typhoon Damrey.

The state leader has approved funding of 43.9 million USD  from this year’s budget to support affected localities in the Central and Central Highlands Region. 1,000 tonnes of rice will continue to be sent to Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces. The Prime Minister has also directed the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to prepare crop seedlings and husbandry livestock to help localities resume agricultural production. The State Bank of Vietnam will also work with the Bank for Social Policies and local branches to give loan incentives and low interest rates to support local people in resuming their livelihoods.
