Party chief pays tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh

VTV.vn - The Party chief expressed his gratitude to the great Vietnamese leader who devoted his life to the cause of national independence and the happiness of the people.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at House No.67 in the Presidential Palace Historical Site on January 26 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year and the 87th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The Party chief expressed his gratitude to the great Vietnamese leader who devoted his life to the cause of national independence and the happiness of the people.

Talking with the site’s management staff, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said he was glad to know that an increasing number of domestic and international tourists were visiting the site, which reached a total 2.8 million in 2016.

He wished the staff a New Year of good health and prosperity.

Located within the Presidential Palace Historical Site, House No.67 was named after the year 1967 when it was constructed. This is where Uncle Ho worked and passed away.

The foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam by President Ho Chi Minh on February 3, 1930 was an important historical event and a turning-point in the history of the Vietnamese revolution, marking a milestone in the country’s development.
