Paris knife attacker was on terrorism watchlist

According to a judicial source, he was on a police anti-terror watch list of people suspected of having radicalized views and posing a potential security risk, though had no criminal record.

At a special security meeting, French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said that if the French security forces did not respond in time, the casualties could be even greater. He also warned that similar attacks could happen anywhere in France and the threat of terrorism in the country remains high.
