The two leaders agreed to end the Korean War. The announcement was made after the two leaders signed the "Panmunjom Declaration for Peace, Prosperity and Unification on the Korean Peninsula".
The declaration included promises to pursue phased military arms reduction, cease hostile acts, transform their fortified border into a peace zone, and seek multilateral talks with other countries such as the United States. South Korean President Moon Jae-in agreed to visit Pyongyang later this year.
