VTV.vn - The National Television Festival 2016 from December 21 to 24 in Lào Cai Province will feature the best television works of the year, photo exhibitions, talk shows and conferences.

The festival is an annual event of Việt Nam Television to honour the best television programmes of the year and is a platform for producers and broadcast professionals to meet and exchange knowledge and skills.

This annual event is a rendezvous to present television works from diverse categories, providing valuable information for the audience.

It is being held in a northern border province for the first time. This year’s festival will, therefore, be an opportunity to promote the cultural beauty of Lào Cai Province, Phạm Việt Tiến, deputy general director of Việt Nam Television, said.

The 36th festival has attracted some 1,000 delegates from different television networks, journalism agencies, associations and television companies.

More than 500 entries under nine categories will compete for the best television work of the year award. The nine categories are programmes for kids, documentary, reporting, science and education programmes, as well as talk shows, television programmes in ethnic language, music shows, television movies and cinema programmes. Among them, the reporting category has attracted the most entries with nearly 150 works.

The festival also features three conferences – “Communication work on environment and climate change”, “Graphics in producing television programmes” and “Promoting the ethnic culture on television.”
