NA discusses time limit of land lease in SAEZ

Several NA deputies agreed with the regulation specified in the draft law that the chairman of the people's committee of SAEZs decides the time limit of investment projects, which cannot exceed 70 years.

In special cases, the time limit can be extended to 99 years but the case must be submitted to the Prime Minister and the National Assembly. Meanwhile, a number of deputies expressed their concern about the regulations on term of land lease, saying that Vietnam's commitments to some free trade agreements may hinder the reclamation of land and that high-tech investors do not usually need a long period of land lease.
