For many generations of music lovers, Pham Tuyen is a musical diary keeper of Vietnamese history. His songs are vivid depictions of the nation's revolutionary chapters. He is one of those rare composers that has devoted most of their career to national milestones and to the working class. Many believe that this should have been hosted long ago

'Star Lantern Parade' and 'March On, HCM Youths' have been sung by Vietnamese youngsters for many generations. With over 200 songs for children and 500 others for workers, Spring and patriotism, Pham Tuyen has inspired Vietnamese people of all backgrounds and ages for 50 years.
Col. Nguyen Dang Nguyen said: Words cannot describe the greatness of Pham Tuyen. His devotion to the nation and its people is magnificent.
Answering the calls of appreciation and passion from his many fans, 88-year-old Pham Tuyen finally agreed to let his descendants host a music night. 'Memories of Pham Tuyen' is considered to be the composer's token of gratitude for the support from the music community during the later years of his life.
“I want to express gratitude to those who have supported me through the years. It means a lot to me that they have loved my songs and appreciate the feelings behind them. If not for them, my songs and name would not be known”, Composer Pham Tuyen said.
Having dedicated his whole heart and soul to Vietnamese music, Pham Tuyen's biggest regret is the lack of songs for younger generations. Poets have quoted Phạm Tiến Duật's writing about Pham Tuyen:
'Old Daisy has forgotten Daisy's old,
blossoms brightly as the bees fly by'.
