Many Chinese airlines carriers have opened direct air routes connecting different localities of the two countries. A launch ceremony to inaugurate a new direct flight connecting Hanoi and Chongqing was held on January 16.
According to figures from the Vietnam Aviation Authority, Vietnam received over 4 million Chinese tourists in 2017 through air routes. Air links connecting the two countries will not only boost tourism but also benefit trade and business links.
