Mixed coal power plant experiment proves successful

The project has been run at Ninh Binh thermoelectric power plant for 2 years. Burning the mixture of flammable coal and inflammable imported coal increased productivity 5%. Mixed coal burning is an economical initiative as a 1% cut in fuel means savings of nearly 33 million US dollars.

At the conference announcing the project’s success, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to regulate standards for mixed coal burning in thermal power stations. These standards will be first applied for power plants with 300 MW capacity or with fluidibed boilers./.
