The event was attended by Politburo member cum Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Standing Committee Tong Thị Phong, along with delegates from ministries, departments and local authorities. Construction of the President Ho Chi Minh memorial house started on May 7th, 2017.
On the same day in 1959, Uncle Ho and a Government's delegation visited and talked with the ethnic people in the Northwest region. Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong spoke highly of the historical significance of the memorial house, expressing her hope that Thuan Chau district in the Son La province would continue to promote the tradition of solidarity, contributing to the country's development.
